Gazette Local keeps things simple. There are no accounts, no payments and no customer reviews on this site, and we do not run visitor analytics, so very little personal information is involved. This page explains the little there is.
Who we are
Gazette Local is the online directory of The Village Gazette, the community magazine serving Naphill, Walters Ash, Lacey Green and Loosley Row. The Village Gazette is responsible for the information described on this page.
What information we hold
Advertiser listings. Businesses that advertise in The Village Gazette can appear on this site with the details they supply for that purpose: the business name, a description of their services, and contact details such as a phone number, email address, website or social media page, along with their printed advert. This information is published publicly on the site. Service descriptions are based on the supplied adverts, and contact details may be updated when an advertiser supplies a correction.
Messages you send us. If you contact us by email, we hold your email and anything you send so that we can reply.
Cookies and analytics
We do not run visitor analytics on this site, and we use no advertising or tracking cookies. Nothing you do here is used to follow you around the internet or to build a profile of you.
Why we hold it
We use advertiser details to help readers find and contact businesses that advertise in the printed Gazette. Emails you send us are used to respond to your enquiry and handle any related listing corrections or privacy requests.
Who we share it with
Advertiser listings and their contact details are publicly visible. We do not sell personal information. Our website hosting and email providers process information needed to operate the site and handle correspondence on our behalf.
How long we keep it
A business listing stays on the site while the business advertises with the Gazette, and is removed shortly afterwards. Emails we receive are kept only as long as we need them to deal with the enquiry.
Your rights
If you are an advertiser, you can ask us to update your listing, or to remove it from the site, at any time. Anyone can also ask to see the personal information we hold about them, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how we use it.
To do any of this, email admin@gazettelocal.co.uk or contact us using the details on our contact page. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we handle your information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, for example if we ever add a feature that collects more information, we will update this page and explain what has changed.
